Titan Quest II Delays Early Access to Summer, Shares Playtest Feedback

Published on: 5/10/2025
THQ Nordic has announced that Titan Quest II will push back its Early Access launch to summer to avoid the crowded ARPG release window. Alongside this update, the team has shared insights from its recent playtest, highlighting both positive reception and areas for improvement.
Playtest Results: A Strong Start
The playtest featured the intro chapter, allowing players to explore the world, choose their masteries, and face the first major boss fight—Apollonia the Terrible, who turned out to be more fun than frightening.
Survey data shows a 92% positive reception, with testers praising the visuals, audio, exploration, narrative events, and overall world design. Combat received balanced feedback, with difficulty feeling reasonable for most players. Encouragingly, 66% of respondents were returning Titan Quest veterans, suggesting strong interest from longtime fans.
Areas for Improvement
While the playtest was well received, some gameplay mechanics need further refinement before launch:
Combat Adjustments: Some sluggishness in responsiveness and aiming still needs work. Certain abilities also require balance tweaks.
Optimization Efforts: The team is working on polishing core systems and performance for both Early Access and the full 1.0 release.
Upcoming Features for Classic Fans
THQ Nordic has confirmed that Titan Quest II will introduce two control scheme options aimed at traditional players:
Classic Left-Click Scheme: Move and attack using left mouse button functionality.
Mouse & WASD Movement Option: An alternative scheme for players preferring keyboard-based movement.
The development team continues to refine Titan Quest II based on community feedback, with additional updates expected soon. The full playtest survey results and upcoming changes will be detailed in an official update.
