Summer Game Fest 2025 Announces New ARPG....With SpongeBob?!?

ARPG fans better get ready for an action-packed adventure with SpongeBob! That's right your read that correctly, Nicktoons & The Dice of Destiny is an upcoming isometric action RPG featuring beloved Nickelodeon characters, including the ever-enthusiastic SpongeBob SquarePants.
Shocking...we know.

However, upon closer look it seems real, at least it has all the components for an ARPG.
So it's a Fantasy Quest with SpongeBob?
It seems that way, this Gauntlet-style ARPG will have players embark on a fantasy-themed journey, with characters sorted into different classes inspired by Dungeons & Dragons. SpongeBob takes on the role of a knight, wielding unique abilities such as:
Bubble Blast – A ranged attack that sends bubbles flying at enemies.
Pretty Patty Healing – Restores health using the iconic colorful burgers.
Goofy Goober Transformation – A powerful ability that boosts damage output.
Gameplay & Features
The game offers solo play and local co-op for up to four players, allowing friends to team up and battle through various levels. While SpongeBob is the only confirmed character so far, the reveal trailer hints at appearances from Timmy Turner (Fairly OddParents) and enemies from My Life as a Teenage Robot, suggesting a diverse roster.
Nicktoons & The Dice of Destiny is set to launch in Fall 2025 on Xbox Series XS, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC, priced at $44.99. Whether this title will be a true ARPG is still a mystery to everyone, but we won't have long to find out.
