Reasonably Priced Pre-Orders Announced for Borderlands 4

Published on: 6/17/2025
2K and Gearbox have kicked off Borderlands 4 pre-orders, and the looter shooter isn’t hitting the wallet as hard as some expected, with the standard edition priced at $70. This is notable since other major AAA titles, like Xbox’s The Outer Worlds 2, have jumped to $80. Despite fears that Borderlands 4 might follow suit, listings on Xbox, PlayStation, Steam, and Epic Games Store confirm the $70 price tag, with pricier editions available up to $130 for extra content.
The $70 price is awesome surprises for gamers, especially after recent announcements of price hikes on our upcoming titles. This pricing decision could be seen as a peace offering to gamers after Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford stirred controversy earlier this year when a fan asked about an $80 price. He replied, “A) Not my call. B) If you’re a real fan, you’ll find a way to make it happen.” The comment, tied to what could be a top co-op game, sparked backlash for seeming dismissive and rude. Pitchford later clarified, saying he didn’t mean to take fans for granted.
Currently, the pre-order for Borderlands 4 standard edition is set at $69.99 / £59.99 across platforms. A fair price with options available to those who are wanting more, the $99.99 / £89.99 Deluxe Edition includes the base game, Gilded Glory Pack pre-order bonus, Firehawk’s Fury Weapon Skin, and the Bounty Pack bundle. Then there is the top-tier at $129.99 / £119.99 edition adds Ornate Order cosmetics and the Vault Hunter Pack, featuring two new Vault Hunters, two story packs, two new map regions, extra gear, weapons, and cosmetics.
The Borderlands 4 is sure to be a day one hit and its clear Gearbox is keeping their fans wallets in mind with this announcement.
