Project Diablo 2 is back with Season 10!

In 2025, ARPG fans are eating well with titles like Path of Exile 2, Last Epoch, Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred, and Torchlight Infinite, plus upcoming releases like Titan Quest 2 and Grim Dawn: Fangs of Asterkarn. But sometimes, nothing beats the nostalgia of a true classic. Enter Project Diablo 2, a fan-made mod that keeps Diablo 2 thriving in ways Blizzard seems to have sidelined. With Diablo 2 Resurrected’s official Season 10 offering little more than a ladder reset—a far cry from its early days of new runewords and Terror Zones—Project Diablo 2 steps up, updating the iconic RPG as if its development never stopped. Lead developer ‘SenpaiSomething’ just shared a sneak peek at what’s coming in Season 11.
If you haven’t tried PD2, it’s arguably the best way to revisit Diablo 2 today. It introduces new items, uniques, and runewords, rebalances lackluster gear, and adds robust endgame content like a Path of Exile-style mapping system, group dungeons, and tough uber boss fights. Season 11 makes last season’s uber boss, Lucion, available in non-ladder and single-player modes, and unveils a new map, the Imperial Palace. The real stars are the new and reworked uniques and runewords. The Constricting Loop ring amps up cast rate and strength, with a chance to scare off enemies, but it steadily drains health—offset by life-on-kill to keep you in the fight.
