Playtest coming for Project Pantheon in July

Published on: 6/26/2025
The upcoming playtest for Project Pantheon, an "ExtrAction RPG" in development by Wolcen Studio, is slated for late July and will spotlight expanded gameplay elements.
Detailed in a Closed Alpha 3 blog, this playtest, titled “Quest & Gameplay Advancements,” will introduce more dungeons, reworked abilities, a new crafting system in player sanctuaries, refined “combat feel,” player bots, and additional features. For the first time, Southeast Asian players can participate alongside those in Europe and North America.
The blog dives into new enemy types, offering tips for defeating them. The Hamförir Evolve faction includes three foes: the Wolf, a threat in groups; the Werewolf, which grows stronger as players weaken; and the Hulk, a spellcasting brute with battlefield control. A new questline, “Whispers of War,” involves aiding Ratatoskr, a world-tree messenger, in sparking a faction conflict between Reavers and Shifters.
The crafting system gets a significant spotlight. Players can construct buildings like an Armory, Smithy, and Arcane Atelier to create armor, weapons, and sigils. Recipes, obtained from enemies, chests, quests, or challenges, become permanently available once learned. A Refinery Island will also support crafting upgrades.
Other updates include an overhaul of Ultimate Abilities, eleven diverse dungeons, new Obelisk extraction modes, and additional PvE debuffs.
The playtest runs from July 25 at 10:00 a.m. PDT to July 26 at 10:00 p.m. PDT (July 27 at 1:00 a.m. EDT). Registration is open, with prior Alpha participants automatically included.
