No Rest for the Wicked "Together" Update Shatters Player Records, Adds 4-Player Co-Op

Published on: 1/29/2026
Moon Studios has officially launched its massive "Together" update for No Rest for the Wicked, transforming the acclaimed Early Access ARPG into a fully shared experience. The release has sparked a massive resurgence for the title, with the game hitting a new all-time concurrent player peak just days after the patch went live.
A New Record
While the game's initial Early Access launch in 2024 was successful, this weekend's activity blew those numbers out of the water. Fueled by the excitement surrounding the new multiplayer features and a well-timed free promotional weekend, No Rest for the Wicked surged to a new record of 62,997 concurrent players on Steam this past Sunday.
This new high watermark nearly doubles the game's previous record of ~36,000 players set during its original launch, proving that the appetite for a shared, "Souls-like" ARPG experience is higher than ever.
The "Together" Update: A New Way to Play
The driving force behind this comeback is the long-awaited arrival of 4-player co-op. Unlike many genre contemporaries that tether progress solely to a host, Moon Studios has implemented a "seamless" shared world system.
Persistent Realms: Multiplayer parties now share a persistent realm where progress is saved for everyone. You don't need the original host to be online to continue playing in that shared world.
Freedom of Movement: The team has removed the "leash" often found in co-op games. Players can split up and explore completely different areas of the map simultaneously—one person can be crafting in town while another hunts monsters in the wild.
New Content: Bows, Armor, and "Facets"
Beyond the multiplayer infrastructure, the update adds a wealth of new gear and mechanics that returning players are already experimenting with:
Bows & Quivers: The update introduces 6 new bows and 4 tactical quivers (including Blasting, Freezing, and Shocking variants), making ranged combat a more viable and dynamic playstyle.
New Armor: Nine new armor sets have been added to the loot pool, including the Umbral Knight and Rootspeaker sets.
The "Facet" System: A new "Facets" mechanic has been introduced for gear, adding innate modifiers that can completely change how an item functions, encouraging deeper build crafting.
For those looking to join the expanding community, No Rest for the Wicked is currently available at a 40% discount on Steam until February 4, 2026.
