No Rest for the Wicked: Major Updates and Fall 2025 Roadmap Revealed

Published on: 8/4/2025
Moon Studios is making good on its promise to reshape No Rest for the Wicked in 2025, with sweeping changes already underway and more planned for the fall. Following the release of the massive “Breach” and “Breach Refined” updates earlier this year, the studio has laid out a roadmap that focuses on player feedback, quality-of-life improvements, and expanded content for the action RPG.
Breach Refined: A Game-Changing Mid-Year Update
Released on June 26, 2025, the Breach Refined patch addressed many of the community’s concerns from early access:
• Customizable Difficulty: Players can now choose between three Realm Tiers—Path of the Torren (easy), Path of the Chosen (standard), and Path of the Unspoken (hardcore). Difficulty can be adjusted at any time via the Realms Menu.
• Utility Rune Overhaul: Runes like Heal Aura and Illuminate can now be equipped directly to the character, streamlining combat and exploration. Players start with the Heal rune by default.
• Fast Travel Improvements: Elder Whispers and Whisper Offerings allow for more flexible travel across Isola Sacra, reducing backtracking.
• Gem Extraction System: Players can now remove gems from gear with varying consequences, enabling more experimentation with builds.
• Ledge Protection: A new safeguard prevents accidental falls during combat, improving navigation and immersion.
What’s Coming in Fall 2025
Moon Studios has teased several major additions for the fall season:
• New Story Zones: Expanding the lore of Isola Sacra, players will explore previously inaccessible regions tied to the game’s central mystery.
• Weapon Archetypes and Enemies: Expect fresh combat styles and enemy types that challenge existing strategies.
• Expanded Build Systems: More rune combinations, gear modifiers, and progression paths will deepen character customization.
• Multiplayer Enhancements: While still in development, co-op features are expected to roll out in phases, starting with shared world exploration and PvE encounters.
A Studio Listening to Its Players
Moon Studios has made it clear that community feedback is shaping the future of No Rest for the Wicked. From difficulty options to travel mechanics, nearly every change reflects direct responses to player concerns. The fall update aims to continue that trend, offering a more polished, expansive, and rewarding experience.
As the game moves closer to full release, No Rest for the Wicked is evolving into one of the most ambitious ARPGs of the year. Whether you're a returning player or new to the world of Isola Sacra, the coming months promise a wealth of content and refinement.
