New Starcraft 2 Board Game Coming in 2026

StarCraft 2: Legacy of the Void hit the scene in 2015, wrapping up the trilogy that kicked off with Wings of Liberty in 2010 and cementing its place as a pinnacle of real-time strategy gaming. Since then, though? Crickets. The franchise seems to be taking an extended nap, leaving fans like me to wistfully polish our old collector’s editions.

It stung when Phil Spencer teased us last year, rocking a StarCraft tee on a livestream—only to dash our dreams by revealing it was just the old games joining Game Pass. And when I recently spotted “new StarCraft” floating around, my pulse spiked… until I realized it’s a tabletop miniatures game, not a digital revival.

Archon Studio, a Polish outfit with a name that’s at least on-brand, is behind this one. They’re promising a 2026 release featuring Terran, Zerg, and Protoss forces clashing in “dynamic, tactical battles” that aim to capture the fast-paced, strategic soul of the classic RTS.

“We’re massive StarCraft nerds ourselves,” said Jarek Ewertowski, Archon’s CEO and co-founder. “We’ve sunk endless hours into it, and honestly, this game’s DNA is woven into our studio’s story. Bringing this universe to life as a miniatures game is a privilege.”

COO and co-founder Michał Pawlaczyk chimed in: “StarCraft’s rich lore, sharp strategy, and legendary factions have always sparked our imagination. It’s a natural fit for a deep tabletop experience, and we’re pumped to share what we’ve been cooking up with the community.”
