Major Diablo Immortal Update, The Writhing Wilds

Diablo Immortal’s next big update, The Writhing Wilds, lands tomorrow, and it’s loaded with fresh content: a new main quest and zone, the game’s first new Battlegrounds map, a revamped crafting system, Familiar upgrades, and a whole lot more. The rollout hits all regions by tomorrow, with server downtime kicking off tonight. Once it’s live, the Writhing Wilds questline will drop you into the Sharval Wilds, a new area rattled by some eerie upheaval. It’s classic Diablo territory—something’s wrong, and you’re the one sorting it out. You’ll face off against Fey, ravenous nature spirits snatching folks from the forest, while the woods themselves twist and shift unnaturally. Partner up with druids and witches, the local protectors, to uncover the mess and save Sharval’s residents before they bail.

On the PvP front, there’s Battleground Convoy, a new 8v8 map built for balance with its symmetrical layout. In three rounds—each capped at five minutes—teams haul a Zealous Idol from their base to the enemy’s, fending off attacks and deciding whether to take on central Guardians for a team boost. It’ll run from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. server time, with the original Battleground map taking over from 9:00 p.m. to midnight.

Crafting gets a boost too, with a new system letting you harvest ore to forge powerful gear. You can craft legendary items boasting at least two attributes and two affixes, including one Class-Specific Magic Attribute. Got extra resources? You can pick that attribute yourself, with five new options per class—13 total—to play with.

Beyond that, expect a new Phantom Market, a limited-time event called Omens of Plenty, returning events like a reworked Fractured Plane, and fresh Legendary Gems. Familiars are getting a tune-up too, making them more practical and PvP-ready. This update’s a beast, packing feature tweaks, revamped events, balance adjustments, and new class items.
