Last Epoch Season 5 Adds Three New Skills for Paladin, Shaman, and Bladedancer

Published on: 10/1/2026

Last Epoch Season 5: Rage of the Frostborn launches on October 1, and Eleventh Hour Games is giving players three entirely new skills to build around.

Paladin, Shaman, and Bladedancer are each receiving a new ability, with Radiant Lance, Summon Tide Elemental, and Dreamslash expanding the build options available to their respective masteries.

Paladins Call Down the Heavens With Radiant Lance

Paladin players looking for another offensive spell are getting Radiant Lance, a holy lightning attack that channels power into the character's shield before blasting enemies ahead.

The skill scales its damage with block chance in a similar fashion to Shield Bash, but Season 5 also changes block-based damage scaling to use uncapped block chance. That means players can continue benefiting even after pushing beyond 100% block chance.

Radiant Lance also has several nodes that significantly change how it functions.

Cloudless Sky removes the shield requirement and replaces block scaling with mana scaling, opening the door for two-handed builds. Cloud Burst causes the attack to land directly on enemies, while Exterminatus adds both a forward beam and a strike from above that can potentially hit the same target.

Other options include Scathing Light for damage-over-time builds, Abyssal Heresy for a Void conversion, and Golden Reliquary, which lets players summon invulnerable Reliquaries that cast Radiant Lance automatically.

Shaman Finally Gets Summon Tide Elemental

Shaman is receiving its final mastery skill with Summon Tide Elemental, a powerful minion designed to function either as the centerpiece of a build or as support for other skills.

The Tide Elemental can also interact heavily with Shaman's existing totem and spell mechanics.

Tidal Totem converts the minion into a stationary totem, while Seahenge causes other totems to reposition around it and extends their duration. Water Spout allows Tornadoes that collide with the Tide Elemental to be redirected toward enemies, and Whirlpools lets the Elemental cast Maelstrom alongside the player.

The Wellspring node adds even more utility by granting nearby allies additional cold spell damage and cast speed, while later nodes can specialize that effect toward totems.

For players who want the Tide Elemental itself to become the damage dealer, Elemental Fury provides ramping cast speed and Unleashed Elements allows those stacks to be consumed for a large barrage of projectiles.

Bladedancer Gets a Fast New Attack With Dreamslash

Dreamslash rounds out the Season 5 skill additions and becomes the final mastery skill for Bladedancer.

Eleventh Hour Games describes it as a low-cost, spammable melee attack focused on movement and Shadow interaction. The Bladedancer dashes along a path, damaging enemies before finishing with a slash, while active Shadows perform their own versions of Dreamslash and continue through their targets.

Its specialization tree offers several dramatically different directions.

Nightmare Steel replaces the dash with a damaging wave, while Narcolepsy introduces Dream stacks that substantially increase damage but cause Dreamslash to target random enemies.

Dreamwalker accelerates Dream generation, and Dreamshift allows Shadows to substitute for Dream stacks. Collapsing Shadows adds another source of Shadow Daggers, with Shadows receiving an increased chance to apply them.

Recurring Dreams can even guarantee that Shadows are resummoned after every use, although the effect comes with aggressive mana consumption.

Players can also convert Dreamslash to fire damage through Apocalyptic Vision, which changes its associated ailments to Ignite.

Three More Build-Around Skills Arrive October 1

The three additions cover very different corners of Last Epoch's buildcrafting.

Radiant Lance gives Paladins another aggressive spell with several unconventional scaling options. Summon Tide Elemental expands Shaman's minion and totem ecosystem, while Dreamslash leans heavily into the Bladedancer's signature speed and Shadow mechanics.

All three skills arrive with Season 5: Rage of the Frostborn when Last Epoch's next season launches on October 1.
