Last Epoch Season 4: "Shattered Omens" Trailer Breakdown – Everything You Need to Know

Published on: 2/21/2026
Eleventh Hour Games has officially dropped the trailer for Last Epoch Season 4: Shattered Omens creating a buzz in the Last Epoch community. Slated to launch on March 26th, the new season introduces a new endgame system, several new and revamped mechanics, and fresh ways to build and customize your characters.
The trailer hints at dark lore developments, setting up the future Orobyss expansion or a but the real star of the show was the gameplay reveals. Here is a comprehensive breakdown of everything coming in Season 4.
Omen Windows: A New Encounter Mechanic
Season 4 introduces Omen Windows, a new in-game event that players will encounter throughout the campaign and inside endgame Monoliths. Functioning similarly to Path of Exile’s "Breach" mechanic, clicking on an Omen Window will shatter it, creating a ringed arena. Players will be swarmed by waves of brand-new enemy types that must be defeated to earn rewards.
Idol Altars
The idol system is getting a major structural update with the introduction of Idol Altars. While full details are still under wraps, the trailer revealed that players can obtain different altar configurations, dropped as a reward from Omen Windows, and slot them into their idol inventory grid. These altars contain special "purple spots." When an idol is placed on one of these designated spots, it locks in with a shattered visual effect, heavily implying that the idol receives a powerful corruption or boost. The trailer also briefly showcased what appeared to be entirely new idol types, including a mysterious silver idol.
Corrupted Items: The "Slam" Arrives
Last Epoch is getting its own version of high-risk, high-reward item corruption. Using a new item called the Rune of Corruption, players can "slam" their gear to add unique and powerful attributes (such as converting Attunement to Apathy or adding a chance to cast Mark of Death on block).
No Forging Potential Required: You can fully craft an Exalted or Legendary item down to zero forging potential and still corrupt it.
The Catch: Once an item is corrupted, it is permanently locked and can no longer be modified in the forge.
Echo Chains
Monolith running is getting a major quality-of-life and pacing overhaul with Echo Chains. Currently, players must load into an echo, complete the objective, exit to claim their chest, and select the next node. Season 4 will allow players to seamlessly chain multiple echoes together back-to-back, compounding the challenge and banking up rewards for a massive payout at the end of the chain.
Two New Rogue Skills
The Rogue class is receiving some major love with two new base skills available to all masteries (Marksman, Falconer, and Bladedancer):
Shadow Rend: A versatile new ability that can be utilized in both melee and ranged configurations.
Bladestorm: Previously a node within the Umbral Blades tree, Bladestorm has been extracted and given its own dedicated skill tree. To compensate for this extraction, Umbral Blades will be receiving a complete refresh.
New Uniques, Sets, and Reworks
As expected, Shattered Omens will bring a massive haul of new loot. The trailer briefly showed off several new Uniques—including a highly anticipated Necromancer item called "Ash Wake"—alongside three brand new item sets, one of which is confirmed for the Rogue.
Beyond the trailer, Eleventh Hour Games has already teased that Season 4 will include massive balance changes, complete passive tree reworks for the Blade Dancer and Spellblade, and significant updates to older skills like Black Hole, Summon Skeleton, and Summon Skeleton Mage.
With all these new systems, Season 4 is shaping up to be one of Last Epoch's most content-rich updates yet. Mark your calendars for March 26th to face the Shattered Omens.
