Last Epoch Season 4: Shattered Omens Highlights and Patch notes

Published on: 3/22/2026
Eleventh Hour Games has officially detailed the upcoming Season 4, titled Shattered Omens, launching on March 26. This update introduces significant overhauls to core systems and adds new endgame challenges designed to push player builds to their limits.
New Mechanics and Endgame Content
The cornerstone of Season 4 is the Omen Windows mechanic. While traveling through Eterra, players will encounter these horde-based challenges where they must defeat waves of "fractured enemies" while remaining within a designated ring. Successfully completing these encounters rewards players with new currencies like Time Glass Fragments and the high-risk Runes of Corruption.
Building on this, the Monolith of Fate is receiving Echo Chains. These are sequenced echoes sharing a common mechanical theme that culminate in formidable final challenges with scaled rewards. For those seeking the ultimate test, the Fractured Prison serves as a new pinnacle encounter, positioned in difficulty between Abroth and Uber Abroth, accessible once players reach a corruption threshold of 400.
Gear and Crafting Overhauls
Runes of Corruption: A powerful but dangerous crafting tool. Using this rune "corrupts" an item, locking it from further modification and potentially ruining its stats in exchange for a massive power ceiling.
Idol Altars: A new equipment slot that allows players to change the shape and properties of their idol grid. These altars feature "refracted slots" that grant unique bonuses to idols placed within them.
Omen Idols: These pre-corrupted idols (1x3 or 3x1) can roll affixes usually reserved for larger idols, offering new ways to optimize character stats.
Class Updates and Visual Improvements
The Rogue mastery is a primary focus this season, receiving two new skills: Bladestorm, a spinning area-of-effect ability, and Shadow Rend, which allows for better shadow generation and synergy. Additionally, the Spellblade and Blade Dancer trees have been condensed and updated for better efficiency.
On the technical side, the Primalist has undergone a complete animation overhaul, including new idle, run, and combat poses. Hit reactions have been added to all enemies in the game, providing better visual feedback during combat.
