Guild Wars 2's Newest Expansion Will Include New Elite Specializations

The Guild Wars 2 Visions of Eternity expansion, set to release in October, introduces new elite specializations for the mesmer, ranger, and guardian, as unveiled by ArenaNet.

The mesmer’s new specialization, the Troubadour, channels a bard-like vibe, wielding music and instruments to bolster allies. By playing an instrument, Troubadours create magical effects, generating musical notes through abilities that amplify their powers. These notes can unleash sonic energy waves to harm foes or create healing zones. Once an instrument is played, it continues in the background, sustaining its effects.

Rangers can embrace the Galeshot specialization, harnessing nature magic to control the wind. This allows them to summon tornados, freeze projectiles with icy gusts, or propel themselves with whirlwinds. True to their ranger roots, Galeshots also connect with birds. They wield the Cyclone Bow, a long-range weapon that grows stronger with use and generates arrows over time. Continuous use unlocks Hawkeye, a skill that targets a nearby enemy and rains arrows on them and surrounding foes.

Guardians gain the Luminary specialization, carrying a magical brazier with a sacred flame. While in the Radiant Shroud, fueled by the brazier, their weapon skills shift to a basic attack and abilities that toggle between radiant weapons, each with unique effects. A trait grants bonuses based on the equipped weapon, but equipping multiple weapons in the shroud increases recharge times, demanding strategic choices.

A beta event showcasing these specializations arrives on August 20th, with weekly deep dives and Friday livestreams to explore them further or check out the post here.
