Fellowship Enters Early Access, Reviving Classic MMO Teamplay for a New Era of Co-op Dungeon Crawlers

Indie developer Chief Rebel has launched Fellowship into Early Access on Steam, introducing a cooperative dungeon crawler that blends the tactical coordination of MMO raids with the immediacy of action RPG combat. Built for four-player teams, Fellowship focuses on fast-paced encounters, class synergy, and the kind of teamwork that makes every victory feel earned.

Teamwork at the Heart of Every Dungeon

In Fellowship, each player takes on a classic MMO role — tank, healer, or damage dealer — and must rely on one another to survive through trap-laden dungeons and complex boss fights. Every encounter is designed around mechanical precision and communication, emphasizing cooperation over grind. Instead of endless procedural runs, each dungeon is handcrafted to reward smart positioning, timing, and trust between teammates.

By leaning into structured roles, Fellowship revives a sense of shared responsibility often missing from modern co-op games. Whether you’re shielding allies from a lethal boss slam or clutch-healing your group through a chaotic finale, the satisfaction comes from conquering challenges as a unit.

Short Sessions, Deep Strategy

Fellowship offers two main ways to dive into its world:

  • Quick Play allows for short, 10–15 minute runs that deliver fast-paced action without demanding a long session.

  • Challenge Dungeons push teams further with special modifiers — from tougher enemies to dynamic hazards — offering higher rewards for groups that can adapt and endure.

Loot drops are personalized, ensuring every player gets their fair share of gear. The system supports experimentation with new builds and strategies without the frustration of competing for drops — a thoughtful touch that keeps progression fair and engaging.

Early Access Roadmap and Pricing

Fellowship is currently available for $24.99 USD (or £20.99), with a 10% launch discount through October 23. Optional Supporter Packs include cosmetic mounts and skins, but developer Chief Rebel has been clear: there are no pay-to-win elements in the game.

The Early Access phase is expected to last around six months, with player feedback guiding new features, dungeon designs, and balance updates. The team aims to steadily expand the endgame while maintaining the accessible, teamwork-first spirit that defines the core experience.

A Strong Start for a Promising Adventure

With its focus on tight combat, strong team dynamics, and bite-sized dungeons that still demand coordination, Fellowship feels like a love letter to classic MMO raiding — distilled into a modern, session-based co-op experience.

If Chief Rebel delivers on its roadmap, Fellowship could stand out as one of Early Access’s most exciting cooperative RPGs — proof that true teamwork never goes out of style.
