Eko Software is answering one of the community's loudest requests for Dragonkin: The Banished. In a recent developer update, the studio confirmed that highly coveted Unique items are officially in active development, alongside a completely new endgame event designed to shake up the ARPG's core farming loop.

The Arrival of Unique Weapons

The developers made it clear that they are focusing their initial efforts exclusively on Unique weapons, so players shouldn't expect to see Unique armor or jewelry just yet. These new weapons are being designed as build-defining centerpieces. Rather than simply offering bloated stats, they will feature distinct passive effects that are versatile enough to fit into multiple class archetypes. Eko Software noted that finding and equipping one of these weapons is intended to feel like a "micro-journey," naturally encouraging players to engage in deep theorycrafting to maximize their new powers. The team is currently fine-tuning the concept, experimenting with specific UI tooltips and custom icons to ensure these weapons stand out in your inventory.

Entering the Dracomundus Purgatory

To give players a place to test out their new firepower, the upcoming update will also introduce a brand-new event called "The Dracomundus Purgatory." Unlike traditional Chaos Hunts or Maps, you cannot simply select the Purgatory from a menu and grind it repeatedly. Instead, it serves as a dynamic, unpredictable challenge. A portal to the dangerous Dracomundus biome will trigger randomly upon the completion of standard endgame hunts, as well as at specific scripted moments during the main story campaign. The developers are currently keeping the exact details of the challenges that lie within a secret, but players can expect the Purgatory to offer some of the most lucrative and dangerous encounters in the game.

In Summary

By introducing powerful, build-altering Unique weapons alongside the unpredictable Dracomundus Purgatory event, Eko Software is adding some much-needed depth to the Dragonkin: The Banished loot hunt. While there is no hard release date for these specific features just yet, it is abundantly clear that the developers are actively listening to the community and working to expand the ARPG's endgame loop in meaningful ways.
