Diablo 4 Season 8 Delayed! Old Friend Inbound?

Blizzard has decided to delay the launch of Diablo 4's eagerly awaited Season 8 by two weeks to give it some extra refinement. For veteran Diablo fans, there's a silver lining: the developer is hinting at the comeback of a familiar face from the franchise's past.

Originally slated for a mid-April release, Season 8 of this action-packed RPG has been pushed back, as announced by Blizzard producer Rod Fergusson on Twitter. He explained that the team is prioritizing the game's quality over sticking to the initial schedule, saying, "In the spirit of serving the game, not the plan, Season 8 will take a couple of weeks longer to bake than we initially anticipated."

So, when can Diablo 4 players expect to dive into the new season? Based on the Season 7 end date of April 15 (spotted on the game's character screen and battlepass menu), tacking on the two-week delay points to a new release date of April 29.

Fergusson didn't just drop the delay bombshell—he also teased something exciting, noting he’s “looking forward to seeing an old ‘friend’” in Season 8. With Diablo himself missing from the game so far, could this mean the big bad might return?
