Diablo 2 Resurrected Season 10 Dropped

Diablo 2 Resurrected has kicked off its Season 10, which should be exciting news. This legendary ARPG, built on Blizzard’s original masterpiece, laid the groundwork for countless dungeon-diving, loot-chasing games that followed. Sure, it feels a bit dated compared to today’s slicker titles, but there’s a unique charm to its version of Sanctuary that still holds up. Yet, despite the effort put into a full remaster, Blizzard has let Diablo 2 fade into the background since Diablo 4’s release, and it feels like a missed chance—especially when you stack it up against what Path of Exile, its fiercest competitor, is doing.

The first few seasons of Diablo 2 Resurrected didn’t reinvent the wheel, but they added nice touches to one of the greatest PC RPGs without straying too far from its roots. Terror Zones brought some unpredictable spice to the map, new runewords opened up creative build options, and balance tweaks sharpened the mechanics, making every class feel worthwhile and enjoyable.

But then, around Season 5, the updates dried up. At the time, I figured it made sense—the team was clearly focused on shining up Diablo 4, which had just launched a couple of months earlier. I adore Diablo 4; its core combat and skill usage might be the smoothest in the genre. It’s evolved a ton through its seasons, and the Vessel of Hatred expansion took it even further. Still, I’d love a stronger reason beyond nostalgia to revisit the game that started it all.
