Chrono Odyssey Devs Promise Lots of Improvements In The Future

Published on: 7/7/2025
Chrono Odyssey, an eagerly awaited MMORPG slated for a late 2025 release, recently concluded its closed beta in late June. Chrono Studio, the developer, has now shared a detailed post-mortem analyzing insights from the test, outlining their plans to refine the game.
The closed beta ended on June 23, and within weeks, the team released a two-part update plan addressing technical improvements and player feedback. Part 1, already out, highlights that while players enjoyed the core gameplay, issues like combat responsiveness, animation quality, camera behavior, performance, and graphics quality didn’t meet expectations. To address these, the developers are revamping combat mechanics, improving hit feedback, separating motion and combat data, and introducing a new weapon progression system called the Matrix.
Camera and control issues, including lock-on mechanics and collision inconsistencies, are also being fixed. Performance is getting a boost through Instanced Static Mesh systems and trim sheets to lower GPU and memory demands, plus dynamic collision loading based on proximity and line of sight for better stability. Graphics upgrades include shader optimization, revised lighting, support for DLSS and FSR, and enhanced screen quality via improved Temporal Super Resolution.
Part 2, still to come, will cover UI/UX, sound design, progression, and server stability. With issues spanning nearly every aspect of the game, Chrono Studio’s commitment to transparency and quality might push the release beyond the planned window. The team emphasized, “We’re not rushing until it’s right,” a promising stance that players hope will deliver a polished experience by launch.
