Awakening Announces Launch Details

With just two months to go until Dune: Awakening hits the scene, Funcom’s stepping up to tackle some burning questions. A fresh blog post, complete with an update video, dives into the game’s monetization plans, post-launch support, and PC system requirements.

Unlike the flood of early access titles out there, Funcom’s sticking to a full launch on the promised date. That said, certain editions will give some players an early jump, which Creative Director Joel Bylos says will help fine-tune the game’s balance. For DLC, expect optional standalone expansions you can snag individually or bundle together in a “season pass.” Alongside that, free updates and quality-of-life tweaks will roll out regularly. Funcom’s track record backs this up—think The Secret World and Conan Exiles, both of which followed a similar playbook, while the free-to-play Secret World Legends even tossed in all its predecessor’s DLC at no cost.

Wondering if your rig can handle it? Here’s the minimum PC setup:

OS: Windows 10 64-bit (or later—no Mac or Linux yet)

Processor: Intel Core i5-7400 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200

Memory: 16 GB RAM

Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 (6GB) or AMD Radeon 5600XT (6GB)

Storage: 60 GB free

The blog also lays out recommended specs if you’re aiming higher.

For those with beefier setups, there’s extra tech to play with. Nvidia DLSS 4 was already confirmed for launch, but now AMD’s FSR and Intel’s XeSS 2 are joining the party, along with Razer Chroma RGB and Razer Sensa HD Haptics if you’ve got the gear. Still unsure if it’ll run—or how it’ll look cranked up? The free benchmark, complete with a character creator that saves your design for launch, has you covered.

So, are you jumping in day one—maybe with a season pass in tow?
