Reaper Cold Dual Wield Starter Build Guide
Last Updated: Jul 30, 2026 by RektByProtoss
About
Rekt's Cold Dual Wield Reaper Starter Build is an assassin-style melee build that pairs the fast attack speed and high cold damage of the Nightblade with the offensive buffs and damage-mitigating abilities of the Necromancer. It balances fast clear speeds and single-target DPS with strong defense mechanisms like damage reduction curses and absorption shields. Built primarily around farming targeted Monster Infrequents like Malkadar’s Dreadblades, this setup is beginner-friendly and capable of tackling standard endgame bosses.
Skill Rotation & Playstyle
Buff & Debuff Application:
Maintain passive/aura buffs continuously (Veil of Shadow, Spectral Binding, Harbinger of Souls).
Apply Ill Omen to groups of enemies to reduce their total damage output by 25%.
Cast Bone Harvest to trigger Soul Harvest, granting a large flat cold and vitality damage buff to your attacks.
Core Offense:
Engagement: Use Shadow Strike to gap-close instantly into a mob cluster or boss.
Proc Buffs: Strike with Amarasta’s Blade Burst to activate the Lethal Assault buff for flat cold and acid damage scaling across both weapons.
Primary Attack: Hold down your default attack replacer (Shard of Beronath / Beronath’s Fury) to continuously strike, automatically triggering dual-wield Weapon Pool Skills (WPS) like Execution and Necrotic Edge. Re-cast Amarasta's Blade Burst and Bone Harvest as needed to keep their flat damage buffs up.
Defensive Emergency Rotation:
Cast Mark of Torment on the highest-health target in the room during heavy incoming damage phases to gain high damage absorption.
Trigger Pneumatic Burst for on-demand healing, health regeneration, and speed boosts.

Nightblade
Amarasta’s Blade Burst & Lethal Assault: Serves as the primary damage proc. Lethal Assault provides massive flat cold damage that applies to both hands when dual-wielding.
Veil of Shadow & Night’s Chill: Aura that reduces nearby enemy total speed and lowers enemy Cold Resistance (vital for late-game scaling).
Dual Wield & Weapon Pool Skills (Belgothian's Shears, Amarasta's Quick Cut, Whirling Death, Execution): Enables dual wielding and provides high single-target and multi-target proc attacks on default strikes. Execution acts as the primary burst damage proc.
Pneumatic Burst (with Breath of Belgothian): Provides a low-cooldown active heal, health regen, total speed, and defensive ability.
Shadow Strike: Primary gap-closer and mobility tool.
Blade Spirits: Used primarily as a reliable proccer for high-tier devotion skills like Blizzard.
